Web design in Houston, at a price you can see.

A fast, mobile-first site for a Houston business, designed and built for you rather than assembled from a template. I work with owners across Harris County and I price it the same way every time: one number to build it, one number a month to keep it running.

The price

Two numbers, published.

Website design & build

Up front

$750 once

Designed and built for your business, one time.

Website design & build

Every month

$99 /mo
  • Custom design
  • Google Business Profile setup
  • Hosting, SSL, backups
  • Ongoing edits
  • Your domain in your name

The same price in every city I work in. It can be bought on its own or folded into a monthly plan — the pricing page builds any combination and shows the total before you commit.

Houston specifically

What a site has to do in Houston.

Houston is a card city and a driving city, and both of those shape what a website has to do here. The lunch crowds in the Medical Center, the contractors and energy crews, the food halls in Montrose, the customers spread across the whole of Harris County — almost nobody is walking past your door and noticing you. They find you on a phone, in a car park, deciding whether to drive twenty minutes.

That makes two things matter more here than they do in a compact city. The first is speed: a site that takes six seconds on a patchy signal loses the customer before it renders. The second is coverage — if you are a service business, the single most common reason someone leaves your site is that they could not tell whether you come out to where they live. Both are fixable, and both get fixed as part of the build rather than as an upsell.

Houston's employer base — energy, medical, logistics — also means a lot of local businesses here sell to other businesses as well as to consumers. If that is you, the site has to answer two different readers without turning into a brochure that speaks to neither.

Working together in Houston

How this actually runs.

In person where it helps

I am in Houston. For a build that needs photographs of the place, the people and the work, being in the room beats a folder of phone pictures.

A filming day if you want one

Half a day on site produces the photography and the short-form clips the site and your social accounts both run on. It is priced separately and it is optional.

Everything else by video

The rest — content, review, changes, launch — happens on calls, because it is faster for both of us than crossing Houston at 5pm.

The build

Start to live.

1. Fifteen minutes

What the business does, who it sells to, and what the site has to make happen. If a website is not your problem I will say so.

2. I gather what I need

Photos, services, prices, hours. Where you do not have something, I tell you what would help and what we can do without.

3. I build it and you review it

You see it before anyone else does, and we change what you want changed.

4. It goes live and stays current

Domain pointed, Google profile connected, and from then on you email me when something needs changing.

The alternatives

What else you could do with the money.

An agency build plus a monthly SEO retainer

$1,000+/mo once the build is amortized

The usual shape: a project fee up front, then a retainer that covers the site and the search work together.

A page builder subscription

Cheaper, and it is yours to run

Genuinely fine if you enjoy it and have the evenings. Most owners buy one, build four pages, and never open it again.

This

$750 up front, then $99/mo

Built for you, hosted and maintained, and you email me when something needs changing.

Figures are typical market ranges shown for illustration, not quotes from named providers. Many vendors price by seat, contact or location and keep pricing behind a sales call.

The site is one of three things that bring you customers

The other two are the phone and the map. A site that converts is worth more when your Google profile is actually sending people to it, and worth more again when somebody answers when they call. You do not have to buy all three, and I will tell you which one Houston businesses like yours usually need first.

Questions

Frequently asked

How much does a website cost in Houston?

Mine is $750 up front, then $99/mo. Local agency pricing varies enormously and much of it is quoted only after a discovery call; the range on this site's comparison table is an agency build plus a monthly retainer landing north of a thousand a month once the build is amortized. I publish one number instead.

Do you meet in person in Houston?

Yes, where it is useful — particularly for the first conversation and for photography. The build itself moves faster on video calls, and I would rather spend your time on the site than on the Katy Freeway.

Do you work outside Harris County?

Yes. I work with owners across all 50 states, and I also work in Miami and Honolulu. Nothing about the price or the process changes.

What does the monthly cover?

Hosting, SSL, backups, security updates, uptime monitoring, and ongoing edits. If you need a price changed, a photo swapped, a page added or your hours updated, you email me and I do it.

Do I own the site and the domain?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours.

How long does it take to build?

Typically a couple of weeks from the point I have your content, photos and details. What sets the pace is usually how quickly the business can get me its material, not the build.

Is there a contract?

Not on this. Growth, marketing and website services — including the website care plan — are month-to-month with no long-term commitment, and you can prepay annually for up to two months free. Payment processing is a separate thing: it is a merchant account and it has its own terms, which I go over with you personally on the free review so everything is clear before you decide.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any month. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period to argue about on the month-to-month services — I would rather earn the next month than hold you to a term you regret. If you cancel a website plan the domain is yours, registered in your name, and you can take the site elsewhere.
